This highly sought-after program, among UEL's premier offerings, provides an enriching exploration of modern social work while preparing you to become a thoughtful, skilled, and impactful professional. You'll gain expertise in assisting, safeguarding, and advocating for individuals facing substantial life challenges.
Our curriculum combines theoretical foundations delivered through lectures and discussions with a strong emphasis on practical application - what we term 'experiential learning'. As you progress from student to practitioner, you'll master essential knowledge for a social work career, including current laws, government policies, data protection protocols, communication techniques, social theories, and research approaches. Yet understanding represents only part of the equation. Practical abilities and real-world exposure form equally vital components of professional social work, which is why hands-on learning remains central to our program.
Our faculty brings current field experience to help you learn from actual case studies and research findings. We foster an interactive educational environment that's participatory, cooperative, stimulating, and student-centered. You'll benefit from diverse learning resources that extend education beyond traditional classroom settings.
With over 1,000 annual applicants competing for limited spots, securing admission to this program represents a significant accomplishment that sets you on the path to a fulfilling social work career.
As the leading social work educator in east London, you can trust that our program provides exceptional preparation for securing employment after graduation.
