Pursuing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Technology places you at the cutting edge of innovative exploration, where you'll experiment with emerging technologies like AR/VR (XR), AI, and digital fabrication within a fine art studio environment. Consider how artists originally developed clear glass, which scientists and engineers later adapted to create early chemistry tools—demonstrating art's profound influence on shaping our world. In our technologically advanced society, it's crucial to investigate and test all forms of technology. Moreover, as creative practitioners, we must seek fresh, inventive methods to express and engage with insights gained from technological exploration. You'll benefit from our annual employability program, Detour Ahead: Roadmaps for the Art and Design Industry—a week-long interdisciplinary series featuring industry professionals who provide career insights and practical advice on topics like freelancing, copyright, and taxation.
A fine art technology degree equips you with versatile skills for careers across diverse fields, including art and tech, creative arts, interaction design, publishing, film and television, education, and beyond.
Our teaching faculty maintain active national and international art practices alongside their academic roles, bringing real-world expertise to the classroom. They lead advancements in mixed reality (MR) applications and research areas like human-robot interaction, VR, interactive storytelling, 360-degree video, volumetric capture, and photographic innovation.
