Pursuing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Technology places you at the cutting edge of innovative exploration, where you'll experiment with emerging technologies like AR/VR (XR), artificial intelligence, and digital fabrication within a fine art studio environment. Consider how artists originally developed clear glass, which scientists and engineers later adapted for early chemical instruments - this demonstrates art's profound influence on shaping our world. In our technologically advanced society, investigating and testing new technologies becomes essential. Moreover, as creative practitioners, we must discover fresh, unconventional methods to express and engage with insights gained from technological experimentation.
A fine art technology degree equips you with versatile skills applicable across diverse fields including art and tech integration, creative industries, interaction design, media production, education, and beyond.
Our teaching faculty maintain active national and international art practices alongside their instructional roles, bringing real-world expertise into the classroom. They lead developments in mixed reality applications and conduct pioneering research in areas like human-robot interaction, virtual reality, interactive storytelling, immersive video technologies, and three-dimensional imaging.
