The BA Fine Art program at the University of East London provides a vibrant, critically engaged, and cross-disciplinary creative space for students pursuing contemporary art practice, opening doors to diverse career opportunities across cultural and creative sectors.
Within our distinctive Visual Arts department, we recognize how modern art intersects with multiple fields. Our instructors include active artists, curators, cultural leaders, and writers—many with international exhibition records, published works, and experience collaborating with public and private institutions—who bring their professional insights directly to students. The curriculum features collaborations with external organizations and creative professionals through initiatives like Detour Ahead, Cultural Manoeuvres, guest lectures, and field visits.
Students explore diverse mediums including painting, sculpture, installation, video, photography, printmaking, film, and emerging technologies like 3D scanning, VR, AR, and robotics.
Graduates emerge as self-assured, well-networked creatives. Many secure spots in prestigious postgraduate programs at institutions like the RCA and Royal Academy, while others establish independent studios or creative enterprises. Alumni have pursued careers as curators, educators, and arts administrators.
The program leverages strong connections with East London's thriving arts community and London's major cultural institutions.
