The BA (Hons) Creative Writing (Screen) program focuses on crafting content for visual media platforms. Students explore diverse forms of screenwriting across film, television, and digital media while developing critical analysis skills in screenwriting studies. The curriculum also emphasizes academic writing about media industries.
By the final year, students identify their specialization and undertake a major project in their chosen format. Throughout the program, the focus remains on developing practical skills that enhance career prospects within the UK media sector and adjacent fields.
Our program boasts numerous success stories, with graduates making waves in the industry. Some have even found themselves working on competing television dramas

Alumna Danielle Jawando, who completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies with us, now writes for prominent TV soap operas. Meanwhile, emerging playwright Jonny O'Neill saw his first EastEnders episode air in 2014. Jawando credits her tutors for fostering her professional growth. "They gave me the courage to experiment and, crucially, to submit my work," she reflects. This confidence led to her Emmerdale writing opportunity and early publication. O'Neill has since debuted his play, The Royal Duchess Superstore, in London's theater scene.
The program also cultivates versatile skills applicable to various careers beyond traditional media roles.
