At UEA, you'll pursue a program created in collaboration with the University of Worcester, which received an Outstanding Ofsted rating in 2023. Our intensive one-year PGCE Secondary Modern Languages course prepares you to teach students aged 11-16, with additional training for Sixth Form instruction if desired. This comprehensive program builds essential teaching competencies for modern language education.
After successfully completing the PGCE, you'll earn Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) along with 90 Master's credits, enabling you to teach students up to age 18.
Our Master's-level PGCE seamlessly combines school placements (minimum 120 days) with university training to establish a strong professional foundation. Beyond introducing core teaching knowledge and skills, our partnership curriculum allows you to explore current educational research, helping you develop evidence-based teaching strategies that maximize student learning outcomes.
