In this program, you'll pursue an identical curriculum to our BSc Biochemistry undergraduates, with the addition of an extra year focused on advanced studies. Our biochemistry programs are collaboratively delivered by the Schools of Biological Sciences and Chemistry. This interdisciplinary method ensures you learn from specialized faculty who contribute to our undergraduate education. Both Schools boast research environments acknowledged for global excellence, with scholars producing work of international significance.

Our investigations utilize extensive facilities including multi-photon and confocal laser scanning microscopes for cellular and molecular tissue analysis, high-power nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers and X-ray diffractometers for molecular structure research, alongside mass spectrometers, chromatography systems (both liquid and gas), and advanced fluorescence and electron microscopy equipment.

A Levels
AAB including Chemistry. A-Level General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Where applicable Science A Levels awarded by an English Exam board require a pass in the practical element. If you are taking an EPQ and three A-levels, we may offer you a one grade reduction on our advertised typical offer alongside an A in the EPQ.
T Levels
Obtain an overall Pass including an A in the core of the T Level and a Distinction in the Occupational Specialism. Acceptable subjects are: Health, Healthcare Science & Science.
BTEC
DDD in Applied Science or Applied Science (Medical Science). Specific modules required or A Level Chemistry grade B. See below for accepted subjects and combinations.
Contextual Offer
A Level BBB (including Chemistry)

BTEC L3 Extended Diploma DDM in Applied Science, or Applied Science (Medical Science) with specific modules required OR DDM plus B in A Level Chemistry.
