Combining Geology with Geography provides insights into Earth's physical systems and their societal impacts, including volcanic activity, seismic events, and flooding. You'll examine the relationship between human communities and geological processes through interdisciplinary studies in geology, geography, social sciences, and core sciences, with flexibility to concentrate on your preferred subjects. The first year introduces geological fundamentals while building essential research capabilities and examining environmental challenges like climate change, natural disasters, land management, ecological diversity, and sustainable development. As your studies advance, you can specialize through diverse modules in areas such as landform evolution, water systems, energy resources, earth physics, and geological risks. The final year includes advanced master's-level coursework and an extensive independent research project.

Our strong research background delivers exceptional teaching quality, and our global standing makes UEA graduates highly valued professionals. Geology with Geography graduates enjoy excellent career prospects, with UEA's Environmental Sciences alumni particularly respected in geoscience circles for their comprehensive laboratory, fieldwork, and transferable skills. The program's innovative structure breaks down traditional academic divisions to create a cohesive, dynamic learning journey.
