This program provides a solid foundation in cognitive psychology's core theories and research methodologies. You'll explore subjects including neural processes and cognition, risk assessment psychology, visual perception phenomena, language psychology, and clinical neuropsychological studies.
During your final year, you'll conduct an independent research project focused on cognitive psychology. Previous student projects have investigated autism spectrum disorders, facial recognition processes, visual attention mechanisms, and neural responses to social versus non-social cues.
This program is particularly suitable for those pursuing careers in rehabilitation sciences, neuroscience research, or clinical psychology practice. Through mastering complex data analysis and developing skills in human-computer interfaces, usability testing, ergonomic factors, and information processing, you'll also gain qualifications for careers in data science or computing fields. The curriculum additionally prepares students for advanced graduate studies in cognitive psychology.
