This four-year undergraduate program mirrors the curriculum of our BSc Biological Sciences, while offering you the chance to dedicate your third year to a professional placement spanning the diverse field of biology.

Overview
In this program, you'll follow the identical coursework as our BSc Biological Sciences students, with your third year focused on a work placement aligned with your interests. You can pursue opportunities across all biological disciplines. Past students have secured positions at major pharmaceutical firms like GlaxoSmithKline, emerging biotech companies such as Phico Therapeutics, research institutions including the John Innes Centre, educational roles with the Field Studies Council, or conservation projects in areas like the Norfolk Broads.
Placements can be domestic or international, with recent participants working across Europe, Australia, and North America. This hands-on experience provides valuable industry insights that employers highly prize, giving you a competitive edge in the job market.

A Levels
AAB including Biology or Human Biology. A-Level General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Where applicable Science A Levels awarded by an English Exam board require a pass in the practical element. If you are taking an EPQ and three A-levels, we may offer you a one grade reduction on our advertised typical offer alongside an A in the EPQ.
T Levels
Obtain an overall Pass including an A in the core of the T Level and a Distinction in the Occupational Specialism. Acceptable subjects are: Science.
BTEC
DDD in Applied Science, Applied Science (Medical Science) or Animal Management OR DDD plus B in A level Biology or Human Biology. Excludes Public Services, Uniformed Services, Forensic Science and Business Administration. See below for accepted subjects and combinations.
