In this program, you'll pursue the same curriculum as our BSc Biochemistry students, with the added opportunity to spend your third year gaining professional experience in an industrial setting. This could be at a pharmaceutical firm, biotech company, or research laboratory, providing you with practical knowledge that gives you a competitive edge in the job market. Our biochemistry programs are co-taught by the Schools of Biological Sciences and Chemistry, ensuring you learn from specialized faculty members who bring cutting-edge expertise to the classroom. Both Schools boast internationally recognized research environments where scholars produce work of global significance.

Students benefit from access to advanced research facilities including confocal and multi-photon microscopes for cellular studies, high-field NMR spectrometers and X-ray diffractometers for molecular structure analysis, along with mass spectrometers, chromatography systems, and various microscopy technologies.

A Levels
AAB including Chemistry. A-Level General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Where applicable Science A Levels awarded by an English Exam board require a pass in the practical element. If you are taking an EPQ and three A-levels, we may offer you a one grade reduction on our advertised typical offer alongside an A in the EPQ.
T Levels
Obtain an overall Pass including an A in the core of the T Level and a Distinction in the Occupational Specialism. Acceptable subjects are: Health, Healthcare Science & Science.
BTEC
DDD in Applied Science or Applied Science (Medical Science) OR DDD plus B in A level Chemistry. Specific modules required or A Level Chemistry grade B. Excludes Public Services, Uniformed Services and Business Administration. See below for accepted subjects and combinations.
