In this program, you'll analyze modern international political developments, relationships, and policy choices. Simultaneously, you'll develop a historical perspective on the occurrences and systems that have shaped today's global landscape. You'll discover how actions in one region can create significant impacts for populations thousands of miles away. You'll learn about the diverse participants in global affairs, ranging from national governments to non-state entities like Greenpeace or Al Qaeda, international organizations including the EU and UN, as well as businesses, social groups, migrant communities, and even influential individuals.

Additionally, you'll investigate how today's nation-state system traces its origins back over three centuries. You'll gain the tools to interpret the current world order and engage in informed discussions about its historical evolution. This interdisciplinary approach offers unique insights into contemporary global affairs, helping you understand the complex connections between past and present.
