Our MSci program integrates both undergraduate and graduate-level physics courses, allowing you to explore more sophisticated physics topics.
You'll build a comprehensive grasp of core physics principles, spanning from cosmic events to quantum theory. As you advance through the program, you'll master classical physics concepts alongside cutting-edge developments in contemporary physics.
The University of Dundee's physics department has significantly influenced today's technological landscape. We pioneered LCD screen technology during the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, our research has contributed to discoveries about exoplanet formation and supported the development of optical diagnostic tools for CERN.
Much of your coursework will connect directly to our faculty's research in specialized areas including biophysics, innovative materials, and light-based technologies.
During your fourth and fifth years, you'll undertake an independent research project with hands-on lab experience. Potential projects might include creating optical methods to analyze cancerous cells or studying positron interactions in materials to detect atomic-level imperfections that affect material performance.
