Our program covers social, cultural, and political history spanning from early modern times to the present day, with special focus on Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India.
We prioritize hands-on historical practice. From your first year, you'll work directly with primary sources and examine diverse historical materials - from documents and oral accounts to maps, visual art, films, and music.
You'll explore how source materials and media portrayals influence our interpretations of history. The curriculum encourages critical analysis of major historical debates, their evolution, and their impact on global understanding. Additionally, you'll study historians' methods of constructing narratives and assess their contemporary role in public discourse, media, and cultural preservation.
