Teaching is an immensely fulfilling profession that demands diverse professional competencies. This program provides certification in primary education, granting provisional registration with Scotland's General Teaching Council.
Opting for the International Baccalaureate (IB) track makes you eligible for the IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning (Primary Years Programme), opening doors to global teaching opportunities.
The curriculum includes multiple professional practice placements across various educational environments, from nursery/early years (ages 3-7) to middle/upper levels (ages 8-12), allowing you to implement theoretical knowledge practically from the outset.
During Level 2, you'll engage in a Learning from Life placement at non-traditional educational sites like museums or charities. IB pathway students complete their placement at an IB school, often located internationally, which may involve travel.
Modern teaching increasingly involves collaboration with diverse professionals and services. Our program prepares you for this reality through first-year interdisciplinary projects with Community Education and Social Work students, fostering teamwork skills.
