Building upon our renowned PGCE Secondary program, this English specialization equips you with the expertise to teach in secondary schools, creating dynamic English classes. This distinctive pathway enables you to foster literary appreciation while encouraging creativity and self-expression in your students.
Your learning will combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, aligned with the National Curriculum. You'll examine core PGCE principles, gaining the ability to design and teach compelling lessons for students aged 11-16.
More than 50% of the program involves classroom placements with evaluations, complemented by school-based learning activities alongside university studies. You'll complete two placements in diverse educational environments, accumulating valuable experience to propel your teaching career forward.
You are welcome to apply if you have achieved a 2:2 or above in an English Language or English Literature related degree, GCSE English Language, and GCSE Maths at grade C/4. 
A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background clearance check and Occupational Health check prior to starting the course.
A satisfactory academic (University) reference, or, a satisfactory professional reference if it is more than 3 years since academic study
