Our esteemed PGCE Secondary with QTS program guides you through your transformation from trainee to Early Career Teacher (ECT). Since the course includes Qualified Teacher Status, you can begin applying for teaching roles while completing your studies. Building upon the foundation of our PGCE Secondary curriculum, this Computer Science and ICT specialization equips you with the abilities to teach in secondary schools, creating compelling lessons. This distinctive focus enables you to spark interest in technology careers among young minds.
Your learning will combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, all within the National Curriculum Framework. You'll examine core PGCE principles, gaining the confidence to design and present interactive lessons for students aged 11-16.
More than half your time will involve classroom placements with assessment, complemented by school-based enrichment activities alongside university learning. You'll complete two placements in diverse educational environments, accumulating valuable experience to propel your professional growth.
You are welcome to apply if you have achieved a 2:2 or above in any ICT or computing subject, GCSE English Language or Literature, and GCSE Maths at grade C/4.
A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background clearance check and Occupational Health check prior to starting the course.
A satisfactory academic (University) reference, or, a satisfactory professional reference if it is more than 3 years since academic study.
