Many individuals will face mental health challenges at some point in their lives. This program equips you with the skills to assist them through recovery, developing both practical abilities and theoretical knowledge to emerge as a capable, self-assured professional.

To acquire essential hands-on experience, you'll dedicate 50% of your mental health nursing studies to clinical placements across diverse settings including complex care, dementia services, child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS), crisis intervention teams, and forensic mental health.

Additionally, you'll enhance your skills and professional advantage through realistic simulations in our specialized training environments. These feature mock home settings and our cutting-edge immersive simulation room.

Furthermore, students enrolled in our MSc Mental Health Nursing program may qualify for an NHS bursary of at least £5,000 annually, which doesn't require repayment. Additional details can be found under the Fees and Funding section below.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, achieved in one sitting which must include English Language and Mathematics (Functional skills level 2 Mathematics and English also accepted).

Applicants must have a minimum 2:2 in an undergraduate degree. Please see below for examples of current students who had the correct requirements for entry.

Applicants for this course must have a minimum of 500 hours of verified care experience working with patients and clients. This may be in a paid or voluntary care setting.
