This Master's program examines mental health and wellbeing in educational settings through the perspective of psychological science. You'll work with our internationally renowned, research-focused faculty to critically analyze both theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence regarding education's distinctive role in mental health and wellbeing.
Instructional Approach
The curriculum follows the department's exemplary teaching methods, incorporating diverse formats such as lectures, workshops, research projects, tutorials, seminars, and student-led discussions guided by tutors. This approach fosters engagement with field experts and peers, creating a truly interdisciplinary and inclusive academic environment.
Assessment Methods
Evaluations are designed to develop transferable skills and promote equity. Depending on course selections, assessments may include annotated bibliographies, presentations, essays, video projects, plain-language summaries, quizzes, academic posters, reflective journals, research reports, and scientific communications. All students will complete a dissertation involving original research, analysis, and writing.
Formative learning activities aligned with assessments are integrated throughout each module to support your development. These may include instructor-led exercises, structured peer collaboration, and iterative feedback discussions.
A minimum of a second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an equivalent overseas qualification, either in Psychology or a related subject. Alternatively, a minimum of a second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university or an equivalent overseas qualification, which contains at least 60 credits of Psychology and provides some training in research design and methods, or related methodologies. A minimum understanding of probability, hypothesis testing, comparison of means and ANOVA designs, correlations and linear regression is required. IELTS: Overall score of 7.5 and a minimum of 7.0 in each component. TOEFL: Overall score of 109 with 27/30 in reading and writing and 23/30 in speaking and listening.
