The Neuroscience MSci is a four-year degree that builds upon the foundational knowledge of the Neuroscience BSc. This program enables students to undertake a literature review project in their third year and an extensive laboratory-based research project in their fourth year. The MSci curriculum is tailored to equip students for careers in neuroscience research. During their second year, students can choose between the three-year BSc or four-year MSci track (subject to academic performance).
The initial year features mandatory introductory courses, including two neuroscience-specific modules exclusively for BSc and MSci neuroscience students. These combined modules establish a solid groundwork for advanced study. By sharing classes with peers from UCL's Life Sciences faculties, students gain exposure to interconnected fields.
In the second year, core and elective modules prepare students for their final years, where they can specialize through tailored course selections. The program offers twenty-five advanced neuroscience modules for third and fourth-year students, all instructed by leading neuroscience researchers.
