The MSci program builds upon the Mathematics with Mathematical Physics BSc by adding an extra year, allowing students to deepen their expertise through advanced coursework and a significant research project. During the initial 18 months, you'll follow the same core mathematics curriculum as single-subject Mathematics students, with the option to substitute Algebra 3 with Quantum Mechanics. The latter half of the second year and subsequent years incorporate specialized pure and applied mathematics electives alongside physics courses from UCL Physics & Astronomy. The final year features a capstone project requiring extensive research, a written thesis, and a formal presentation.
This course is available as either a three-year BSc or four-year MSci. Both share identical coursework for the first two years, and applicants are encouraged to initially select the MSci route since transfers to the BSc remain possible within the first three academic years.
