The MSci program provides an additional year of study beyond the Mathematics with Economics BSc, allowing students to deepen their expertise through advanced coursework and a significant research project. Prior economics experience isn't necessary. During the initial two years, you'll build a strong foundation in mathematical analysis, algebra, and methods, completing 3.0 credits annually alongside pure Mathematics students. Instead of Applied Mathematics modules, you'll take 1.0 credit of introductory economics each year (covering both microeconomics and macroeconomics). The third and fourth years offer diverse elective options in both mathematics and economics, with the final year featuring a capstone project requiring extensive written work and a presentation.
This program is available as either a three-year BSc or four-year MSci. The curriculum is identical for the first two years, and applicants are encouraged to initially register for the MSci, as transferring to the BSc remains possible during the first three years.
