UCL's Mullard Space Science Laboratory (MSSL) Technology Management Group and UCL Centre for Systems Engineering (UCLse) have combined their specialized knowledge to create this dynamic program. It prepares students with the essential expertise for careers in technology or engineering management. The curriculum explores both the difficulties and advantages of handling emerging and existing technologies, covering fundamental principles like technology maturity, lifecycles, risk assessment, reliability, and resilience. Emphasis is placed on systems thinking, strategic approaches, and understanding organizational contexts. The research components ensure students gain in-depth expertise in at least one industry-relevant technology management area.
To earn the MSc degree, students must complete eight 15-credit modules plus one 60-credit module (a significant independent research project). The 15-credit modules consist of five mandatory courses, one elective, and two research-based modules: the Project Concept and Emerging Technology Review (ETR) group project. The program culminates with the 60-credit Research Project module.
