This adaptable online program can be pursued full-time or part-time at PG Certificate, PG Diploma, or Masters level.Program OverviewThis course is collaboratively directed by experts from UCL and London's Anna Freud Centre, globally recognized hubs for child mental health research, training, and clinical work.The Psychology and Trauma MSc provides students with contemporary knowledge in trauma theory and practice. Core modules cover fundamental theories, enhancing your grasp of how traumatic experiences influence individuals throughout their lives. You'll study trauma's mental health impacts, including behavioral issues, PTSD, complex PTSD, personality disorders, and evidence-based approaches for prevention and treatment involving children and families. The curriculum incorporates multiple perspectives including neuroscience, cognitive-behavioral theories, and systems theories, while also addressing systemic, cultural, and global contexts. This course is specifically aimed at professionals working in sectors such as psychology, mental health, health care, social care, education, community, criminal justice, or public health. This will include professionals working with either adult populations, or children and adolescents.
A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard is required. Alternatively, a lower second-class honours degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard will be considered if there is evidence of sufficient professional experience in a relevant setting. Applicants will usually have a degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Public Health, Social Sciences, Child Development, Education, Social Work or related disciplines, but those with a degree in another discipline will be considered if there is evidence of sufficient professional experience in a relevant setting.
 
IELTS: Overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in each component. TOEFL: Overall score of 96 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 22/30 in speaking and listening.
