This Master's program educates students on the fundamental principles of Medical Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), demonstrating how these innovations can be implemented in surgical settings to enhance patient care. The curriculum explores essential subjects including robotic kinematics, trajectory planning, system control, and navigation, complemented by data processing and analysis techniques utilizing contemporary Machine Learning (ML) and AI approaches. Furthermore, participants will study surgical data collection methods and gain insights into the instrumentation employed for acquiring surgical data (such as tracking systems, robotic devices, and imaging equipment). Qualification Requirements
A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related fields from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Undergraduate standard knowledge in programming languages (such as Python or C++) is essential, demonstrated, e.g., by relevant courses or by an individual project they worked on during their UG. Undergraduate level knowledge of mathematics is also required, in algebra, analysis and probability. Applicants must show an interest in developing thinking and problem-solving skills.
