Data science merges computational abilities with statistical expertise to solve problems through data analysis. This program provides students with analytical techniques to develop advanced technical solutions, utilizing contemporary computational approaches while focusing on strong statistical principles. The curriculum blends fundamental statistical and machine learning training, starting from introductory concepts, with various elective courses offering specialized insights into statistical computing and modeling. Participants will complete one mandatory course and up to two supplementary computer science modules, with the rest (including the research component) primarily drawn from statistical science offerings.

Qualification Requirements
A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Knowledge of mathematical methods and linear algebra at university level is expected, along with evidence of familiarity with introductory probability, statistics and computer programming. Prior experience in a high-level programming language (e.g. R/matlab/python) is a requirement. Relevant professional experience will also be taken into consideration.
