This advanced program is delivered by UCL School of Pharmacy in collaboration with London teaching hospitals. Designed for pharmacists aiming to build clinical proficiency and leadership capabilities, it helps improve pharmaceutical services in participants' home nations. The optional 6-month placement offers extended clinical exposure, strengthening skills in medication optimization and governance. Participants will cultivate expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, leadership development, medication management, patient-centered care delivery, analytical thinking, adaptable skills for diverse healthcare settings, and global perspectives on healthcare systems and population health needs.
The curriculum focuses on WHO priority health areas including diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and infectious diseases. During the first year, about 50% of instruction occurs through UCL School of Pharmacy coursework, while the remainder involves hands-on clinical training and research at London hospitals under expert pharmacist supervision. The program combines cutting-edge clinical education with practical learning experiences.
