Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds transformative power for global health systems, yet there's a shortage of skilled professionals in this field. Our Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in AI-Enabled Healthcare Systems aims to bridge this gap by fostering an interdisciplinary setting to develop tomorrow's leading healthcare AI experts. All admitted students must complete the MRes Artificial Intelligence Enabled Healthcare program during their initial year.
This foundation year leads into a three-year PhD program. The CDT maintains continuous oversight of each student's evolving training requirements, offering personalized research skill development throughout. Currently, the MRes cannot be pursued independently. The curriculum focuses on essential AI principles while highlighting healthcare system operations, with strong emphasis on ethical AI applications in medicine alongside comprehensive training in responsible research practices and entrepreneurial innovation.
