Biochemical engineering bridges scientific breakthroughs with practical applications, creating innovative products and eco-friendly production methods. The program teaches applied biology, mathematics, and engineering principles essential for developing biopharmaceuticals, producing renewable fuels, vaccine manufacturing, and therapeutic stem cell cultivation. The MEng extends beyond the BEng with an additional year for specialized research and advanced coursework. Both the Biochemical Engineering BEng and MEng programs follow the same foundational curriculum, featuring core modules that blend theoretical instruction with practical tutorials. The emphasis is on experiential learning through laboratory work, pilot plant operations, and immersive projects. In the third year, students utilize their fundamental knowledge to complete a Design Project focused on biological product manufacturing.
