The Linguistics MA program provides students with comprehensive training in contemporary theoretical linguistics. Participants develop foundational knowledge in three key linguistic disciplines: phonetics and phonology, syntax, and semantics with pragmatics. The curriculum allows students to customize their studies according to individual academic interests in language. Learners acquire expertise in cutting-edge linguistic research methodologies and develop skills for autonomous scholarly investigation. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to: frame pertinent research inquiries, locate and assess academic sources, generate and validate new theories, and compose coherent, well-organized research documents. This program especially benefits students with limited prior linguistics exposure in their undergraduate studies, those familiar with traditional linguistic approaches, or individuals who encountered linguistics indirectly through related fields like psychology, philosophy, English studies, or language education. Additionally, it welcomes high-achieving graduates curious about linguistics but lacking formal training in the discipline.
