This Master's program equips students with essential analytical tools to examine the ethical aspects of public policy. Drawing from UCL's three areas of expertise, the curriculum uniquely combines political science, legal studies, and philosophy, focusing on the moral assessment of policy decisions at national and global scales. You'll gain critical thinking skills to analyze the ethical implications of legislation, governance, and public administration. The course emphasizes principled evaluation of civic matters across local and international contexts. Ideal candidates are those seeking to deepen their knowledge of legal and political philosophy, whether for academic research or professional pursuits outside academia. Prospective students should preferably hold an undergraduate degree in Legal and Political Theory-related fields (such as Law, Philosophy, Political Science, Economics, or International Relations) or other disciplines with significant coursework in relevant subjects (including ethics, legal theory, historical thought, or social sciences). Exceptional applicants from other academic backgrounds will also be considered.
