Our program offers a practical, policy-focused curriculum that leverages SSEES's cutting-edge knowledge in comparative economics. Centered on emerging market economies and policies, it examines these through the lens of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union while also applying to developing regions like South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. This MA explores the growth trajectories of 28 post-Soviet states across Europe and Asia. Students will evaluate how institutional changes influence various factors, from economic growth and social progress to financial globalization, democratic transitions, technological innovation, and global engagement. Designed for those pursuing advanced research or professional opportunities, our alumni have secured roles as economic and political analysts in think tanks, political organizations, governmental and international bodies, media outlets, and NGOs.
