The Gender and Sexuality Studies program is an interdisciplinary initiative that leverages UCL's exceptional range of academic fields. Hosted by the Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry, this degree brings together faculty from Arts and Humanities, Social and Historical Sciences, Laws, and Built Environment, along with the School of Slavonic and East European Studies and the Institute of Education. Graduate researchers can focus on any gender or sexuality-related topic where expert guidance exists. Faculty supervisors offer specialized knowledge across diverse fields including anthropology, architecture, development studies, education, geography, history, art history, legal studies, literature and film analysis, queer theory, sociology, and urban studies.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants need excellent qualifications in a relevant humanities or social science discipline: a first or very good upper second-class (minimum average 65%) Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. We prefer candidates to have a distinction or indication of distinction-level work (e.g. a distinction mark for the dissertation) at Master’s level or equivalent. Overall grade of 7.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the subtests. Overall score of 109 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening.
