The fields of mathematics and physics are deeply interconnected, each offering valuable perspectives that enhance understanding of the other. This program provides students with comprehensive mathematical education while offering opportunities to enroll in courses from UCL Physics & Astronomy, as well as other departments within UCL and the University of London. During the initial 18 months of the BSc, participants build a strong foundation in pure mathematics and mathematical methods, mirroring the curriculum of single-subject Mathematics students - though Quantum Mechanics can be substituted for Algebra 3. The latter half of the second year and the entire third year focus on specialized pure and applied mathematics electives, complemented by physics courses delivered by UCL Physics & Astronomy.
Available course selections may encompass: Atomic and Molecular Physics (UCL Physics & Astronomy); Mathematical Physics (King's College London); Quantum Mechanics (UCL Physics & Astronomy).
