The Bachelor of Science in Architecture provides students with a broad spectrum of learning opportunities, fostering independent, innovative, experimental, and methodical design approaches. Learners are supported in cultivating their unique architectural perspective while engaging in teamwork within a dynamic and stimulating environment. The first year focuses on studio-based design projects that build core competencies in observation, design methodology, analytical reasoning, and visual communication, highlighting both individual and group expression through sketching, portfolio creation, model building, and full-scale construction. Year 1 also introduces concepts of civic responsibility and architecture's societal role.
These studies are enhanced by lecture-based investigations into architectural history and theory, urban development, environmental considerations, and technological aspects, alongside a second-term excursion.
During Years 2 and 3, students advance their design work within studio settings by joining a Bartlett Design Unit. These units consist of roughly fifteen students each, mentored by seasoned design instructors. Every unit pursues a distinct architectural focus, enabling participants to explore personal architectural passions and examine architecture's intersections with varied disciplines like craftsmanship, cinema, historical studies, philosophical inquiry, and scientific exploration.
