This dynamic program offers a foundation in applying engineering principles and design concepts to healthcare technologies. Leveraging UCL's research expertise and strong hospital partnerships, it equips graduates for diverse technology fields spanning imaging, diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment. Interactive lectures are complemented by hands-on problem-solving exercises that enhance teamwork skills, design thinking, and communication abilities. Our close collaborations with leading teaching hospitals enable staff to work directly with medical professionals, enriching your learning experience with their specialized knowledge. With typically small class sizes (under 35 students), biomedical engineering courses foster an engaging, discussion-friendly atmosphere where questions are encouraged. Our department achieved outstanding results (89%) in the 2016 National Student Survey for overall satisfaction. This interdisciplinary program combines strengths from UCL's top-ranked Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering department with expertise from various engineering and science disciplines across UCL Engineering.
