Our Spanish and Latin studies program provides extensive opportunities to explore interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from diverse course offerings spanning literature, linguistic studies, historical analysis, sociological perspectives, philosophical inquiry, artistic traditions, cinematic studies, and various cultural aspects related to Spanish-speaking communities. During the first, second, and final years, learners will engage with Spanish language courses alongside complementary studies in literature, cultural studies, historical contexts, and linguistics, in addition to Latin coursework (additional Latin program information can be found on UCL's Greek and Latin Joint Degrees pages).
The third year involves an international experience in a Spanish-speaking nation, where participants may enroll at a partner university or complete a professional internship. This program ensures equivalent language proficiency outcomes for all students, whether beginning their language journey or building upon existing skills.
