This four-year undergraduate program integrates Jewish cultural history with the study of regions (including their languages and cultures) that historically hosted significant Jewish communities. Students spend their third year abroad in Jerusalem and/or a central or eastern European country. The first year provides foundational knowledge in central/eastern European history and Jewish studies at the university level.
During the second and fourth years, students can specialize by selecting modules that explore specific periods and themes in eastern European and Jewish history. The program also offers opportunities to learn relevant languages like Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian, Polish, or Ukrainian.
