Our combined Finnish and French program provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, comparative, and cross-cultural perspectives in humanities studies. Students can select from an extensive array of courses covering literature, linguistic studies, history, sociology, philosophy, visual arts, cinema, and various cultural aspects tied to their language(s) of study. During the first, second, and final years, participants will engage in language instruction for their selected tongues alongside related cultural studies. The curriculum also incorporates interdisciplinary offerings from SELCS and SSEES, exploring connections between literature, film, linguistics, and historical studies.
The third year features an international study experience divided between two nations where the chosen languages are spoken. All students attain equivalent language proficiency levels, whether beginning as complete beginners or with prior language knowledge.
