Czech belongs to the Slavic language family and shares significant mutual intelligibility with Slovak, boasting around 11 million native speakers. Finnish, on the other hand, is part of the Uralic language group alongside Estonian and Hungarian. This program provides exceptional language training along with deep insights into Czech and Finnish literature, history, and culture, equipping students for diverse career paths across Europe. The degree program develops advanced proficiency in speaking, writing, and comprehension of your selected languages. Required language courses are customized to your current skill level as you advance through the curriculum, complemented by mandatory literature and cultural studies.
During your third year, you'll live abroad in two different countries where your chosen languages are spoken. This immersive experience not only enriches your understanding of the languages and cultures but also enhances your adaptability and independence. Typically, students spend this year at partner universities, though other options like professional internships may also be available.
