Working alongside Secondary Lead School partners, the University of Chester provides a Biology specialization program (ages 11-16 with advanced sixth form content) that leads to a PGCE with QTS qualification. A career in teaching offers both immense satisfaction and significant challenges. Our program equips you with the essential knowledge, skills, and understanding required to become an exceptional educator. We strive to cultivate teachers who are deeply committed to advancing both their students' and their own professional growth. The Biology program is delivered in collaboration with Lead Secondary Partners. This course prepares you to teach Secondary Science while emphasizing your Biology specialization. Throughout the program, you'll enhance your subject knowledge, practical abilities, and teaching methodology across all Key Stage 3 science topics, while simultaneously deepening your expertise in Biology for Key Stages 4 and 5, tailored to your academic background and experience.
Students from countries outside the UK are expected to have entry qualifications roughly equivalent to British Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) for postgraduate study. We accept a wide range of qualifications and consider all applications individually on merit. We may also consider appropriate work experience.
