In December 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported a 70% global rise in diabetes-related fatalities from 2000 to 2019. Diabetes significantly contributes to vision loss, kidney disease, cardiovascular events, cerebral infarctions, and surgical removal of lower extremities.
This MSc program provides in-depth understanding and academic rigor regarding various diabetes forms, related conditions, disease mechanisms, diagnostic methods, and contemporary treatment strategies. Designed for medical practitioners, scientists, and medical students taking an intercalated year.
Participants will hone abilities in academic research, critical analysis of medical publications, and implementation of evidence-based healthcare solutions. The program focuses on enhancing research capabilities and scholarly writing to support ongoing professional growth.
The curriculum concludes with a Research Dissertation, evaluated through a journal-ready scientific manuscript and brief oral defense. Project formats may include systematic reviews, data analysis, or laboratory investigations tailored to individual research focuses.
Graduates may pursue diverse professional and academic pathways, including biomedical research, clinical practice, physician assistant roles, doctoral studies, or educational positions.
