You'll receive personalized mentorship to develop a research thesis on a specialized topic of your interest.

Taught by a diverse group of linguistics experts, our forward-thinking MA program covers areas like computational discourse analysis, sociophonetics, etymological studies (including name origins), and media discourse critique. Participants can engage with current academic debates and publish on our digital platform.

Modern research labs provide access to industry-leading tools for phonetic analysis and language data processing, enabling evidence-based investigations.

Faculty are currently spearheading the Cestrian English initiative, documenting regional speech patterns (Talking Chester) and textual portrayals of Chester across time (Changing Chester). Graduate students may collaborate on this ongoing research project.
