Our BSc Physics degree equips you for a demanding yet fulfilling scientific career. The Department of Physical, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences strongly emphasizes industry relevance and cross-disciplinary cooperation, maintaining close ties with 40 nearby technology firms. Throughout your studies, you'll have opportunities to engage in industry-led projects through various placements: an optional four-week, 120-hour placement in your first year; a second-year Experiential Learning module featuring a five-week, 175-hour placement; and a final-year research project guided by academic staff or industry partners. You can also opt for a placement year between your second and third year.
You'll spend significant time in our state-of-the-art labs, working with professional-grade equipment to develop essential hands-on skills that complement your theoretical understanding.
