Neuropsychology explores how brain function connects to cognition, emotions, and behavior, bridging biological, psychological, and social aspects of human experience.
This program is offered in collaboration with North Bristol NHS Trust. Our faculty is deeply committed to advancing neuropsychology's real-world applications to enhance the lives of individuals impacted by brain injuries, disorders, or neurological conditions.
The Diploma's curriculum mirrors the specialized training we provide to clinical psychologists pursuing neuropsychology specialization. It aligns with British Psychological Society standards and offers genuine insights into clinical practice.
Although not BPS-accredited, completing this Diploma may fulfill a key requirement for the BPS Specialist Register if you later pursue an accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctorate. This pathway could potentially reduce your specialization timeline by approximately two years and eliminate the need for an additional accredited diploma.
The program examines various neuropsychological conditions while emphasizing assessment techniques, treatment planning, and rehabilitation approaches. Students also study neuroanatomy, neuroscience methodologies, and brain function theories.
With approximately 80% of instruction led by active clinicians, the program includes weekly clinical tutorials during term time to discuss course material and explore diverse career paths. This qualification benefits those aiming for research roles, professional positions like Assistant Psychologist, or advanced clinical training such as a Clinical Psychology Doctorate.
