This Master of Science program equips you for diverse public health roles across healthcare systems, government agencies, research institutions, and nonprofit organizations. You'll develop essential competencies applicable to both UK and global public health practice, including evidence evaluation, data analysis, research methodologies, and strategies for health promotion, disease prevention, and healthcare enhancement. Designed for both medical and non-medical professionals.
The curriculum encompasses public health fundamentals, health promotion, disease prevention, epidemiological methods, statistical analysis, research design, health economics, medical ethics, and healthcare systems. Instruction comes from practicing public health specialists from organizations like UKHSA, OHID, local authorities, and the NHS, complemented by interdisciplinary academic experts.
Your final project includes preparing a publishable journal manuscript and conference-style poster presentation. The program aligns with multiple components of the Faculty of Public Health's Diplomate Examination.
Our Department of Population Health Sciences leads internationally in research methodologies, health protection studies, and public health intervention development.
