This program equips you with essential knowledge, skills, and hands-on training for wildlife careers, focusing strongly on global wildlife health and conservation.

Key subjects cover animal capture and handling methods, emergency care and transport for injured wildlife, enhancing captive animal welfare, behavioral ecology principles, breeding initiatives for endangered species, rewilding captive populations, conservation tactics, and protected area management. The program also provides thorough grounding in wildlife diseases, One Health approaches, disease ecology, plus monitoring and containment strategies. You'll learn theoretical and applied geographic information systems, spatial analysis, and maximum entropy niche modeling using QGIS and Maxent open-source tools.
The MSc program is hosted at Bristol Veterinary School in Langford village near Somerset's Mendip Hills, offering proximity to Exmoor National Park and Southwest England's diverse wildlife habitats. Collaborative workshops and practical sessions with Bristol Zoological Society provide direct experience in exotic animal care within modern zoo environments.
Alongside our renowned faculty, students enjoy specialized lectures, workshops, and seminars from leading researchers, conservation specialists, and wildlife veterinarians, creating valuable professional connections. The course includes field trips to significant wildlife sites around Bristol.

Qualification Requirements

An upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent), in a biological, veterinary, zoology or environmental science programme, or a degree with a minimum 50% relevant biology content including modules such as, Whole Organism Biology, Anatomy and/or Physiology, or evidence of Biology training such as A-level Biology grade C+. A research project is required.
Ielts - 7.0 overall with 6.5 in all skills
Toefl ibt - 95 overall with R22, L21, S23, W22.
