The MSc in Business Analytics is a one-year, professionally accredited program designed for graduates holding bachelor's degrees with strong quantitative foundations, as well as exceptional candidates from other disciplines who possess advanced quantitative abilities. This program is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals aiming to build careers in business analytics across diverse sectors including digital marketing, HR, supply chain, retail, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and agribusiness.
The program holds accreditation from the Institute of Analytics (IoA), the global professional association for analytics and data science practitioners. Our partnership with IoA reflects our shared commitment to advancing professional and ethical standards in data analytics. This collaboration ensures our curriculum remains current in this rapidly evolving field, significantly enhancing graduates' career prospects in the dynamic analytics industry.
Developed in collaboration with industry experts from IBM, LV, and the UCL/IBM Industry Exchange Network, the MSc Business Analytics offers students hands-on experience solving real-world business challenges. Participants work on analytics projects, often in partnership with IBM and various organizations across private, nonprofit, and public sectors, delivering data-informed solutions to actual business problems.
The program fosters critical awareness of organizational, societal, and ethical considerations in business analytics - vital knowledge for organizations balancing data-driven innovation with public trust and social responsibility. Student projects address diverse challenges including resource optimization, HR analytics, demand forecasting, performance metrics, customer profiling, and sentiment analysis for strategic planning.
Upon completion, graduates will have acquired:
technical expertise in data preparation (including identification, extraction, and cleansing),
advanced skills in statistical modeling and machine learning for predictive analytics,
the ability to develop and implement optimization models for complex business decisions,
proficiency in visualizing, interpreting, and communicating analytical findings.
The curriculum covers Python programming for data analysis and specialized tools like Lingo, while preparing students for professional certification through the UK's Operational Research Society and the Alliance of Data Science Professionals.
