Neuropsychology explores the connection between brain function and cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes. It bridges the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of human behavior.
This program is offered in collaboration with North Bristol NHS Trust. Our faculty is deeply committed to advancing neuropsychology and its real-world applications to enhance the lives of individuals impacted by brain injuries, illnesses, or disorders.
The MSc curriculum mirrors the training we provide to clinical psychologists specializing in neuropsychology. It aligns with British Psychological Society guidelines and offers a genuine perspective on clinical work.
Although not BPS-accredited, completing this MSc could fulfill part of the requirements for the BPS Specialist Register if you later pursue an accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctorate. This pathway may reduce the time and cost of obtaining a separate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology for aspiring neuropsychologists.
The program covers various neuropsychological conditions while emphasizing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.
Approximately 80% of instruction comes from active clinicians. Weekly tutorials during term provide clinical insights, patient care perspectives, and evidence-based practice discussions. This program prepares students for research roles, professional positions like Assistant Psychologist, or advanced clinical training such as a Clinical Psychology Doctorate.
Students can pursue independent research through their dissertation, with potential opportunities to collaborate with NHS clinicians.
