The initial phase of this program focuses on building foundational knowledge in mathematical analysis, computing, and general engineering, all framed within mathematical and data modeling. Students develop practical problem-solving abilities, teamwork experience, and professional practice insights that serve as the cornerstone for advanced studies.
For those selected for the Year in Industry option, the third year involves practical work with an industry partner. This placement includes completing a project that demonstrates how academic learning translates to real-world applications.
Upon returning for the final two years, students can specialize by selecting from diverse options in engineering, mathematics, data science, and intelligent systems, learning directly from leading researchers in these fields.
A central theme of the curriculum is solving real-world problems across various domains, from robotics to healthcare. Fourth-year students tackle current industry challenges through case studies, applying interdisciplinary knowledge while refining modeling, teamwork, and communication competencies.
The program culminates in a fifth-year research project where students contribute original work to their chosen field. This intellectually stimulating capstone experience offers exceptional career preparation while allowing students to engage with real-world stakeholders.
